does anyone have any prefferences on the current lineup of basic phones for Verizon Wireless? i'm considering upgrading to a phone that can actually read and write text. I hear any of the basic phones will voice and you can do this on any basic phone. so which do you users prefer?
I just bought a Samsung Haven from Accessible Electronics
The Samsung Gusto 3 is quote accessible. I have a coworker who uses it
The price was right for my Haven, but the lack of speech control is annoying; she's far too slow!
I'm goin with the Gusto . the LG one I just got wouldn't read the text like if I missed it, there is no way to repeat it like go to the inbox and read it. however, you can set all the settings on your own, and the speech is pretty good for the phone I was easily able to figure it out all on my on own once the Verizon guy turned on the f full readout.
I recently bought the Gusto 3, it works well but I was disappointed that when you turn off individual functions like the flip open and talk, which stops the voice command from activating every time you open the phone, it stops much of the readout of things like the contact list, recent and missed calls etc. One thing I did was to set a shortcut key to turn the full readout on and off with the push of one button. I still wanted the caller ID readout, under call sounds you can select caller ID readout regardless of accessability settings. I did this because I don't always want my phone yapping every time I go to use it, if I just want to make a call I can just use speed dial without letting everyone know who I am calling.
I like that you can set a lot of the settings on your own but not all of them. tomorrow i'll get help with how to actually do the texting and contact thing. i'm not sure if i'm k keepin this, goin back t to the LG 5300 or goin with an iPhone 5S.
